ABOUT 

Who am I?
I'm Emir Mahi Uysal, an 18 years old gamer who is pursuing a career to develop games that will become people's favorites!


How did I started out?

I have been working in the game industry for more than 2 years with being a part of indie game development teams and studios. I started out by learning Unity and game design fundamentals. Then, I teamed up with  a couple of artists and developed my first game in a Game Jam. This experience led me to understand how important the project management and leadership was
 

How did I developed my skills and advanced my career?

After developing my first game, I discovered my deep interest in game audio and as well as production/leadership. So I joined an aspiring game development team called Lamadna Games to get more experience. After participating in many game jams with this team and developing my portfolio, I was invited to join another game development studio which was founded by award-winning game developers who are also high school students, just like myself! I joined this game studio, Remoob, and we participated in a couple of game jams and received some notable awards such as the Most Meaningful Game Award with our anti-war game jam title.

 

We have continued to develop our latest game jam project "Pile Up!". While working on Pile Up!, I continued to attend to game development events and meet-ups to widen my network, listen to other developers' experiences and share my experiences with them as well.

After developing Pile Up! for almost 2 years, we released the game on Early Access on Steam. The game got praised for it's atmosphere, art style and design. Since I had a lot of free time left, I also had the chance to work on Ingression: Platforming with Portals, and after that, Clonizer.

I did these while I was studying Social Sciences in the Istanbul/Beylikdüzü Social Sciences High School. I studied English, Psychology, Philosophy, Sociology, Maths and some other subjects which helped my in many areas of my career.

  • Having a decent experience with the complete production and development cycle of indie games, now I'm looking for opportunities to get more experience on AA-AAA game production and development cycles of these games.
